well, this low impact gentle exercise is free, suitable to all and most families .Its actually quite ironic that many people today try to avoid or even eliminate it.


But we at SHT come forward to take the oath that we will walk for at least half an hour daily.  Its not that i am forcing you as there are a range of benefits associated with walking:

  • helps you strenghten your heart: lowering levels of bad cholesterol and increasing good cholesterol 
  • lowers the risk of diseases:its true experts suggest that you slash your risks of type 2 diabetes asthma and many forms of cancer 
  • helps avoid osteoporosis: quite simply loss in bone density .walking increases your bone density .so, is especially important for the women readers  who do have a loss in bone density after 50.
  • helps avoid dementia(brain shrinkage) : experts believe that walking can avoid brain shrinkage in elders above 60 but it won't hurt under 60 to avoid brain shrinkage.
  • helps you control weight : even strolling for 30 mins can get your weight down . this also helps in increasing your metabolism which means you will be able to burn more calories per activity.
  • gets your legs bum in shape : well i have seen it happen on walking long distances and especially stairs your lower body.
  • boosts vitamin D levels:its really difficult to get vitamin D out of any food stuff .So, when we are walking the body makes it on its own .just remember to uncover your arms and legs while doing it .
  • makes to happy: well, all exercises are known to make you happy as they energize you.
