HOW TO ENJOY HEALTHY MONSOON
We all know that to stay
healthy and cheerfull in the monsoons, we have to take precautions that does not mean that we have to stay away from rains or not to enjoy street food. Hence we are talking about overall health tips so that rainy weather can be even more enjoyable.
Following tips may help you to stay Safe during this Monsoon:
1. Healthy diet.
- As chances of getting infections especially in the digestive system are most are most common so watch on food intake.
- Mostly water-borne illness effect your health so drink only filtered or boiled water.
- Maintain a healthy diet , which means avoid chaat, juices, ice caddy, kulfis and other street food as for as possible.
- Avoid raw vegetables and salads unless they are consumed at home where you
can ensure hygiene.
2. Drink enough water, regardless of
your activity levels.
- Do
not compensate your liquid intake with carbonated, caffeinated drinks, and
alcoholic drinks as preservatives and sugars in them act
as diuretics.
- Herbal
teas with antibacterial properties is a good idea.
- Plain water is the best.
3. Avoid Prolonged exposure to rains.
- As
much as possible , avoid walking in rain water as it make you more prone to viral diseases and infections, specially fungal
infections of feet , nails and private parts.
- If your get wet, try to dry your self as soon as possible and never ever use wet socks , shoes and under garments, woman must take extra care as they wear layers of cloths.
- Diabetics people must take extra care and avoid walking barefoot on ground to avoid germs infection due to poor immunity.
- Do not sit in an AC environment, when you are wet .
- Keeping
an extra pair of clothes and footwear in the office is a good idea.

Keep clear of damp indoors:
Damp walls are source of fungus growth hence avoid specially , if you suffer from asthma .
5. Precaution against insects and mosquito :
- Do not allow water to accumulate in and around your house as that may become one of breeding ground for insects and mosquito.
- Always use mosquito repellents or mosquito net while sleeping .
- cover your body with cloths avoid using short dresses .
6. Maintain good hygiene of your body .
- Minimum one shower in a day will insulate you against
infections from sweat and dirt due to humidity.
- Use minimum make up or oil / cream.
- Take
Vitamin C to boost your immunity.
7. Avoid touching your eyes:
- Eye
infections like conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers are common during rains hence , keep dry eyes and min use of Kajal .
- Avoid touching /rubbing your eyes especially with dirty hands. during long hours.
- Prolonged presence in front of a screen – television or computer – may also cause redness, itching or irritation.
