Avoid sleepless nights in the summer

Avoid sleepless nights in the summer

When summer comes to mind, we almost always focus on picnics, days lounging on the beach, and tasty iced drinks. But hot weather has opposite side of it  too. We’re talking about hot uncomfortable days of summer, when intense heat and low humidity make it impossible to sit  , sleep or do any work comfortably.
The obvious solution for cool and  calm, way is to use  an air conditioner but can all of us afford these modern  gazettes which are not only costly but bad for the environment  sto it looked impossible for most of us but our grandparents did it all the time, They learned a few things in the process as  how to stay cool on hot nights.

Try these tips which will certainly help you to fight heat.

1. Choose cotton.
Avoid using  satin, silk, or polyester bed sheets for cooler nights. Light-colored bed linens made of lightweight cotton  are and excellent for promoting ventilation and airflow in the bedroom.
2. use hot water bottles as ice pack
In winter, fill it with boiling water for toasty toes without cranking the thermostat. During summer, stick it in the freezer to create a bed-friendly ice pack. which will make your feet or head cool for some time and will certainly make you feel good
3. use table fan to blow off hot air from room
If you thought fans are just for blowing hot air around, think again! Point box fans out the windows so they push hot air out, and adjust ceiling fan settings so the blades run counter-clockwise, pulling hot air up and out instead of just twirling it around the room.
4. Sleep like an Egyptian.
It involves dampening a sheet or towel in cold water and using it as a blanket. We recommend laying the damp sheets on top of a dry towel to avoid direct contact to your body and to avoid soaking the mattress.
5. keep water in a room on a shallow pot in front of a table fan
This stay-cool trick is straight out of the icebox era, though. Make a DIY air conditioner by positioning a shallow pan or bowl full of ice or cold water  in front of a fan. The breeze will pick up cold water from the ice’s surface as  it melts, and create a cold mist., which will certainly make you sleep with comfort.
6. sleep alone
Sorry lovebugs, but sleeping alone is a better than spooning for staying cool. Cuddling with a partner increases body heat, making the bed a sticky, sweaty pit of despair instead of a cool, calm oasis.
7. Fill up the tank.
Keep your  self  hydrated  by drinking water before going to  bed. which will help you in not getting  dehydrated due to tossing ,turning and sweating at night, Just eight ounces will do the trick, unless you’re really into those 3 a.m. bathroom runs.
8. Have bath before sleep.
A cold shower gives a new meaning to the bath when it comes to  summertime. Rinsing off under a stream of fresh cold water  brings down the core body temperature and rinses off sweat  which helps you in hitting  the bed cool and clean.
9. Get low.
Hot air rises, so set up your bed, hammock, or cot as close to the ground as possible to beat the heat. In a one-story home, that means hauling the mattress down from a sleeping loft or high bed and putting it on the floor. If you live in a multi-floor house or apartment, sleep on the ground floor or in the basement instead of an upper story.
10. Use minimum lights.

This tip is pretty self-explanatory. Use less light and electric equipments as they emit lot of head and add to the room temperature   Fortunately, summer means light until seven pm at night. Take advantage of natural light as much as possible, and keep rooms cool after dark also use minimum lights .
